A custom doll by Darla Tanaka
This doll started out as a Totoco original Kisara with long black hair. I cut her hair and redid it into a flip. I also repainted her lips to match her dress.
The dress is made from a very soft silky fabric that I bought here in
Japan several years ago. The color is actually a very rich dark plum but
the flash of the camera makes it look lighter. The bodice is fully lined.
The skirt part of the dress is one piece of material with a seam down the
back. There are snaps on the back so the dress can be taken off. The shoulder
straps and belt are made of very fine(thin) gold chain. The belt is sewn
on. Her stole is sheer black and is sewn....it is not just a long rectangle
cut. The stole is made from two pieces of sheer black fabric that is sewn
and finished on all edges. I made the earrings which are dangly gold metal
leaves.
